I Spent $50,000 on a YouTube Experiment: Here's What I Learned (and How You Can Avoid My Mistakes)

Yo!

Man, Its crazy how fast this year has gone by already. Its about to be 4th of july next week! I feels like I just moved back to vegas back in January after spending the year in Bali and Thailand.

BTW, If you haven’t been to either of those places yet. You should 1000% be putting money aside and make the trip. It might be pricey to get there but once you do, you will never want to come back.

Trust me, thats why I ended up staying WAAYY longer than I planned. Happens every time I go. The girls are GORGEOUS, it’s like they only allow IG influencers to buy flights there or something. UNREAL.

Then the food and cost of living is RIDICULOUSLY cheap, you can live comfortably there for about 1.5k a month TOTAL.

If it was closer to home, so I could check in on my mom and my sister more often I would live there full time.

But being there this last time was different than the others, it really opened my eyes to what’s possible if I just buckle down for a little while and stop partying and going out. Just to focus on work and building my business.

Yes it’s cheap over there, but just like anywhere else if you want luxury. I mean true luxury you got to pay for it and guess what thats where the girls you are after will be.

Not only that, the guys there are the people you want to surround yourself with too. Everyone likes to have fun and have a good time, but they also hustle like no other to make sure they can enjoy living in a place like that with ZERO worries.

So this last time I was there, yes I went out and had some fun 95% of the time I was either at home knee deep on learning about AI or at the gym working out.

I also did try to take a stab at youtube automation, paid for a course and everything. Overall it was a total loss, It might’ve cost me about 50k give or take plus 5k of the course.

It was a solid lesson though, so even though I’m bummed it didn’t make any money. I am glad I did it and at least tried something I thought could work.

While it cost me a ton of money, it also got me back to being a total beginner at something. I’ve been in paid media for so long and know digital marketing pretty well. But learning about organic growth is a WHOLE different ball game, its crazy how long it takes crack and how important the content you create is.

That was a great reminder of how important copywriting is and how no matter what you do and think you’re good at, there is something else that you don’t know and need to learn.

Here is a youtube channel that I wish I could’ve found sooner, this guy is LEGIT especially when it comes to making content with AI and he actually gives you EVERYTHING you need to do it yourself.

So maybe I’ll come back to it later and try it again.

  • Use ChatGPT for generating scripts and prompts for AI-generated content.

  • Utilize Leonardo AI for creating high-quality images and Runway ML for animations.

  • Employ 11 Labs for text-to-speech voiceovers and CapCut for video editing.

  • Implement strategies to maximize the virality and monetization of videos.

  • Bonus sections cover creating AI-powered cartoon and Lo-Fi music channels.

Here is also Jenny Hoyos, who gets hundreds of thousands of views on every video she makes.

  • Utilizing YouTube Shorts for quick earnings without the need for monetization.

  • Importance of engagement metrics like retention rates for video success.

  • Iterative approach and learning process in content creation.

Value of quality content over quantity in garnering views.

  • Strategic considerations such as changing thumbnails for increased visibility.

  • Collaboration opportunities with brands for additional revenue streams.

  • Demonstrating the possibility of making money on YouTube with perseverance and adaptability.

She crushes it in that video with showing how to make viral videos with youtube shorts.

Now if you dont care about organic growth, I wouldn’t blame you if you don’t. I think there’s still a lot more to learn from here. organic growth has nothing else to hook you in other than the content, it needs to keep your attention for as long as possible.

It all starts with the hooks, so if you want to apply this to your paid media and ads for any niche. Your hooks need to be SHOW STOPPERS.

So just for you guys, I made a CustomGPT you can use FOR FREE to write hooks for ALL of your content no matter what niche. Check it out and let me know what you guys think!

That is exactly what I used to make my tik tok shop ads I will be sharing with you next time!

That is it for this one!

Thanks for tuning in, I hope you guys got some good things out of what I’ve been able to create so far.

If you guys have anything specific you would like me to cover next time, just shoot me an email to [email protected] and I’ll be sure to get that done!

See you soon!
